An Average Joe?
Remember Joe, whom I was telling you about last week? I just heard from him that he has been recommended for a promotion. A more challenging position, with better pay and benefits, has opened up, and he has begun training for it. Joe was thrilled to share this news, naturally. And being the superachiever he is, he quickly began preparing for the transition.
Since he will be moving to a position of significantly more responsibility, a round of interviews will be conducted. I mentioned before that Joe tends to be on the shy side. Though he’s very well liked and friendly, he’s still a bit nervous in interview and presentation situations. He’s already got a couple of friends in mind to help him with mock interviews, and he’s begun envisioning himself in his new role.
Joe was recommended for this position because he in engaged in a continuous process of self evaluation, personal development, and value demonstration. He has a wonderful attitude, he never gives up, and he prepares thoroughly for every interaction and transition. Joe considers himself to be a regular guy with a big heart and a lot of dedication. He’s an exemplary model of Career Intensity.
